Day 10 (Friday)

Friday morning the children worked on school work again.  The Professor went to work again, and I worked on laundry and cleaning some more.

After lunch, it was time to get out of the apartment.  We headed to the nearest park, Volksgarten, to explore.  It was cold and cloudy, but it still was nice to get out.

The park is beautiful.  There is a lake with a fountain in the middle of the park.

There are ducks and geese that live in the lake.  There is a bridge over a little stream trickling into the lake.

There are rocks with moss that look related to the trolls in Frozen.  And there is a playground.

The playground had two large piles of sand that seemed to be dumped for the kids enjoyment.  Sand also seems to be the choice for underneath slides and climbing structures.

One of the climbing structures had buckets on pulleys and chutes for the sand.
The kids had a marvelous time.  I don't think we will ever get rid of the sand during our stay here.

We left when Miss S crashed into a tire swing and Young M fell off a tire swing and hit his head.  Playgrounds in Europe are fun.  And we somehow always seem to end up with somebody crying.

I walked home with calmer, happier children.

That evening the Professor and I took Young A grocery shopping.  Unfortunately the store we were walking to was closed.  Fortunately, one nearby was open.  We picked up groceries for the next day and walked home.
